Human rights are the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to, simply for being human. These rights are guaranteed regardless of where you are, who you are, and what you believe. They include the right to life and liberty, freedom of thought and expression, and the right to work and education. Human rights have been set out in various international documents, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. These rights are interrelated, indivisible, and universal.
