With experience ranging from IT security to management consulting, and a focus on project management in particularly challenging circumstances, Florian works at Clearmatics to help design its Ethereum-based platform for distributed economic automata. In previous roles at Oxford Policy Management, Florian was responsible for leading the pioneering £10m EDOREN education research programme in Nigeria, and a £5m research workstream within the UK Department for International Development’s SSEIP programme. As a management consultant at Ernst & Young, Florian served as head of the project management office of Germany’s largest public sector IT project. His earlier consulting career included clients such as Microsoft Consulting Services, Bank Winter, and European Union programmes. As a graduate of the University of Oxford, Vienna University, the London School of Economics, and the United World College of the Atlantic, and as former President of the Austrian UWC National Committee and youth leader in the Scouts movement, Florian has had a lifelong passion for intense work in highly motivated teams, taking on unusual challenges and learning as a team how to master them. Having specialised in public sector projects before acquiring a strong grounding in qualitative social science through his doctorate in educational studies at Oxford, Florian has extensive experience in project management, planning, risk and change management, client requirement analysis, and process design, as well as IT security methodologies and implementation, and highly heterogeneous networks. Florian collects vintage computers, withe a focus on 1980s and 1990s graphics workstations; his most prized possession is a rare NeXT Nitro prototype.
