• Built all service infrastructure for engineering operations on AWS. • Developed smart contracts using Solidity to implement business requirements for the sale of intellectual property rights. • Wrote API to facilitate blockchain writes to Ethereum based on smart contract execution using Web3. • Designed and built accounting system to facilitate sales of fractional ownership of intellectual property rights and track the associated royalty payouts, as collected from music publishers and distributed to buyers on the platform. • Integrated with international partners through custom API integrations. • Wrote React web application to supplement the main mobile application. • Code review and supplemental development of the React-native mobile applications. • Created workflows to streamline operations between engineering and other teams at the company. • Led training program initiative and mentored team members interested in learning new technologies. ---------------------------- Key responsibilities included hiring engineering team; on-boarding technical resources; reporting engineering progress to co-founders and key stakeholders; and setting milestones/objectives for engineering teams, ensuring delivery of product requests to meet project deadlines. Deep, hands-on involvement in all engineering tasks, working as a lead on all of the backend engineering and DevOps.

• Designed and built API for internal services and mobile application. • Built serverless API to consume high-volume streaming data using Lambda. • Architected a filtering service that collected and cached millions of top-level domains in Redis. • Maintained a custom OpenVPN implementation used to stream log data from user devices via Kinesis. • Designed and implemented a real-time blocking service using DNS traffic streamed from user devices. • Implemented a custom NAT64 service1 to circumvent a, now corrected, deficiency with OpenVPN being unable to tunnel IPv6 traffic which caused lost connectivity for mobile users on networks that were IPv6 only. • Helped design and implement a predictive push notification service to deliver interventions based on common data usage patterns. • Patched and customized popular open source libraries as needed to support proper functioning of services. ------------------- I worked extensively on architecting the network infrastructure on AWS and built out the first version of the API in Rails with a simple web frontend using React. During my time at Onward, I managed several interconnected systems that were crucial for the product to function. Using a customized and load balanced VPN in our AWS VPC, we were able to reliably capture, log, and process network traffic for users in a cost-efficient manner. This data was streamed from our VPN via AWS Kinesis to a serverless backend using Lambda that processed and stored data in RDS (Postgres) and ElastiCache (Redis). The data we collected was used to display categorized data usage in-app, on the web, and via generated reports emailed to users on a schedule of their choosing. Onward had several features that were interesting to work on, specifically the blocking feature that was successful in revoking network access to a user's chosen list of blocked services.
