Supervisory Statistician-Employment and Training Administration

As a Supervisory Statistician, I manage the data collection, creation, publication and analysis for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Weekly Claims Release, considered a leading economic indicator. Work closely with the Office of Chief Information Office to ensure availability of servers and databases for the weekly production of the UI Weekly Claims Release. Review and provide input on high level and detailed architecture designs for new publication system and ensured the design adhered to established standard operations procedures. Completed and tracked results of User Acceptance Testing for new publication process. Successfully implemented new publication system for the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims release on June 2016. Update processes to automate the publication of a mirror database with lagged UI data (CRON job in UNIX) and ensure daily updates are pushed to the web and available to the public. Establish employee performance standards, evaluate the performance of employees; conduct initial and mid-year review counseling, and prepare final ratings. Provide technical training to OUI on R-studio, SQL, MS Excel and MS Access to junior staff.
