I am a member of the original founding team that started the AI Alliance. As the community lead for Open-Source Science I've participated in all stages of the ideation, creation, launch, and establishment of the AI Alliance. I've helped hire key IBM leaders that are now leading its working groups from IBM, and had started the very first working group, Community, that was the first to meet and lead the members to work together on all aspects of the Alliance. I've created an original logo and brought in the design agency to build the web site, proposed and laid foundations for the two first in-person meetings, in San Francisco and in Tokyo. I've ran our Bay Area AI meetups as a part of the first Alliance meeting and before it as the very first AI Alliance meetup, in January at IBM and April at Databricks. I've hired Linux Foundation events team to run the first Tokyo meeting. I've brought in the critically important Aitomatic community, and with them created the leadership dinners that follow key meetings, starting from the original AI Dev conference in San Diego. I've selected the AI dev conference as the launchpad, secured the keynote to do it, and organized the original AI alliance booth, bringing leaders from across IBM to represent it. I continue as a Community Co-lead and the Community Core member, representing NuumFOCUS and Open-Source Science. The companies and organizations that I've personally brought into the AI Alliance include NumFOCUS Linux Foundation ML Commons Databricks Anyscale Neo4j Aitomatic LangChain Llama Index Weights and Biases University of Pennsylvania Dartmouth College UC California Berkeley Northeastern University and more. I keep working with the members I know for many years now in the AI Alliance on the common goal of making OSS AI the future of AI.
